America has spoken! November 3, 2004 And so have the Hispanics in America. I wanted to share some of the statistics on how Hispanics supported our President in our nation and in Washington State. In spite of the much higher turnout percentage among non-Hispanic voters in this election, Hispanics went from casting 7% of the total votes to casting 8%. Gore got a +27% favorable margin among Hispanics (the lowest margin in history except for President Reagan reelection landslide). Kerrys margin was only +9%. Below is a table with the breakdown: USA
In Washington State Hispanics went from casting 2% of the votes to casting 5% in this four year period. And Hispanics in Washington State supported the president at the rate of 49%. That is higher than the 44% national average for Hispanics. This is also higher than the 46% support level of non-Hispanic Whites in our state. Below is the breakdown for Washington State: Washington State
These numbers represent another milestone in our shared quest to have Hispanics recognize that their work ethic and social values are more attuned to the platform and spirit of the Republican Party. Viva Bush!
