Petitions

This is an immediate way to get our voices heard and doesn’t take much time! Please forward these petitions to everyone you know.

We can only pull this off, if we all work together and spread the word!

1. DREAM Act Petition

“The DREAM Act is a bi-partisan proposal, which would create a pathway to citizenship for thousands of young students, who were brought to the United States years ago as children. If Congress fails to act this year, another entire class of outstanding, law-abiding high school students will graduate without being able to plan for the future, and some will be removed from their homes to countries they barely know. This tragedy will cause America to lose a vital asset: an educated class of promising immigrant students who have demonstrated a commitment to hard work and a strong desire to be contributing members of our society.”

(For more information on the DREAM Act, see our issues section below.)

2. Define American Petition

Most of us know the story of Jose Antonio Vargas. For those who haven’t heard it yet, you can see it on his site: http://defineamerican.com/

Jose has created a petition we believe is a great beginning to issuing reform: a pledge to “ask questions, debate, listen, and learn.”

These issues of immigration will shape our future. Take a stand, with us, to learn about how immigration laws will impact our lives and the lives of our neighbors, and to start open-minded and earnest debating about the best course of action!
